CE Heritage selection help
« on: August 23, 2007, 08:59:00 PM »
I am wanting to try these shafts.  I shoot a 55#@29" Brack Quest. (I draw 29 or 29.5") I am wanting to shoot a 125 wensel woodsman with a 125 gr adaptor.  The shaft will be cut to 30 or 31".  My question is, will I be better off with the 250 or 350 shafts?  Thanks, Jonathan

The 250 will be a bit weak with that much up front. I have experimented a lot with these shafts and ya would get away 200 up front, but at 31"s no more and at 30"s maybe 225. The 350 even at 31"s will be a tad stiff with 250 up front. I would go with 50 grain brass insert and than a long adapter(42grs.) and the 125 head and keep the shaft(250) as close to 30"s as ya can. 250's should be fine...try a 145gr tip.

350's would be way stiff...

I must be a little off with my set-up but I shoot 250s with a 200gr Phantom up front. 31 inch arrow with a 64# at 28in Chek Mate. I get awesome flight, and they seemed to bareshaft quite well. My total arrow weight with wrap, 5 inch fletching and all weigh 612 grains. Hopefully in about a week perfect elk medicine. From what I've read Mr Leonard knows his stuff, but this works great outa my rig, and it's just a bit heavier than yours. Good luck!
