1st Tick of the season
« on: February 28, 2013, 06:35:00 PM »
Never had one this early before.  February 28 Upstate NY, my 1st wood tick for the season.  about 40-45 degrees where I was.

I guess what I am getting at, be mindful when you come out of the woods.
Relax,

You'll live longer!

Don't care for the little buggers either. I remeber pulling them off by the dozens from my dog each day before Frontine came along. They are the main reason I do not spring turkey hunt in Mn.

Hope we do not have a banner year for ticks.

Pulled one off from the Hill Gang Hog Hunt. I hope it's not an indication of the forthcoming season.

I picked one off me the last day of our rabbit season.  Feb. 15th.  Glad they don't eat to much.

Pulled one of my one year old daughter after a hike two weeks ago.  It was low fortys out- too cold for them to move very fast.  Must have been in the right place at the right time (if your the tick).

Lol we've had ticks all winter here in Florida.  Hate em.  DEET around my ankles, back of the neck and wrists works for me.

If there out here they're really cold!! We have over a foot of snow on the ground right now.

Hope this late snow knocks em back a little they have been terrible here the last few years.

Took a male deer tick off my leg back in January.  Scary.

I remember getting covered in late November at my club. It's famous for tick infestation.   :banghead:

Charlie, it must be something about you. I always said you were a real tick magnet.

Seriously, you seem to get more than your share. Good thing your eyes are good enough to spot them before they bite you.

Yesterday was almost 50 degrees here.  Took the dog shed hunting with me...I pulled a dozen or so off her that were crawling around. I hate those things!!
