Whats the criteria for a classic thread?

I really enjoy looking at the classic threads in the archives section and am wondering what is the criteria that has to be met for a thread or post to become a classic?

bowmofo, i think ill have to get a second opinion on that, seems none of them had near that many replies that I seen.
