The fist one looks good but maybe raise the archer up a bit? Right now his head is sorta in a strange place on the buffalo...

I like the last one so far. When we have the next meeting maybe you can have copies of the different logo's so we can vote on it.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the officers had a meeting on Saturday, to set an agenda for the meeting on 2/28. We will have a full agenda to discuss on the 28th. We have a set by-laws put together by the officers that will be sent out to everyone to review before the meeting. The meeting place may have to be changed to accomidate a larger crowd. Everyone will be notified if so.

I just sent out a draft of the By-laws that were put together by the officers of the club. These by-laws are only a draft. We will be discussing changes and/or additions and voting on them at the meeting on 2/28. If you did not receive a copy by email, then I either do not have your email address or a have an incorrect email address.

Ricky,

What feedback have you received on the by-laws?

As stated in my email to you, I was surprised to see the membership fees so low.  Especially after hearing about all the stuff the club will have to pay for (insurance, etc).  I am not complaining!  Cheap is good, but I also want to see a finacially viable club.

Also, if guests are allowed, then I think they should have to make a $5 donation each time they come to shoot.  If they think they will come enough then they should become a member.  Especially if it is only $20 to join.

Also, should we limit the membership?  How much will the Prairie Center put up with?  Will they be glad to have as many as we can get?  Or if we reach a big size will they get fed up with us having lots of people out there?

Just thinking out loud!

Some of the feed back has been exactly what you stated. Limit the membership. Some want to allow guest at a nominal feed, while some do not. The few people that have responded concerning dues feel they are to low. The cost to incorporate were significally lower than thought, $20 to get our not for profit articles of incorporation from the state of Kansas. $40 to the NFAA for our charter and range inspection. We will still have the $400 per year for insurance. The range inspection will hopefully take place this saturday.

Ray Cinadr, Si Korte and myself will mark the range on friday if the weather allows. If anyone would like to help out let me know.

If anyone has questions or concerns about the by-laws or anything else concerning the club, please let me know. Getting the thought process going before the next meeting will be very beneficial.

Si Korte, Ray Cinadr, Josh Jakobe and myself set up the basic shooting range today. We were able to set up 20 shooting lanes. The range will have many different shooting situations in some very nice woods. Several shot will be across a small stream. The NFAA inspector will be meeting a few of us at the Prairie Center tomorrow morning to inspect the range. I will let everyone know what the outcome is.

The range was inspected today and we passed. The inspector now has to forward the inspection documetns to the NFAA who will issue how charter. Once we receive the charter we will be able to get our insurance policy. At the meeting on the 2/28 we will be setting up a work day to clear the walking paths and shooting lanes. We will have access to a walk-behind brush mower and a generator to run a electric hammer to drive the rebar in the ground to support the bag targets. I will also have a few maps at the meeting with the basic layout of the range.

I was hoping we would be able to have the next meeting a BassPro, but they are booked for hunter education classes. We will just have to make room at the Prairie Center. If everyone is okay with it we could have the meeting a 10am on 2/28 at the Prairie Center.
