Setting Brace Height?

To increase my brace height, do I twist the string CLockwise or counter clockwise?
Let's say I'm wanting my brace height at 8.5 inches and it is currently showing 8 inches. When I take the string off the top/ should I twist it clockwise or counter-clock wise???? Thanks in advance...

Twist it in the same direction as it's already twisted.
If there are no twists in the string already, then it won't matter which way you go.

Steve,
Gets kinda confusing. First, if it is a flemish string it depends on how it was twisted when it was made. Second, clockwise/counter clockwise depends on how you are looking at the string.
Measure brace height, unstring and put about 4 full twists in the string, remeasure and see if it went up or down. Putting more twist in a string shortens the string and raises brace height. Play with it, you'll see how it works.
