There are a couple pics on the Zipper website last I looked.  Didn't know these were still going, but wouldn't mind seeing some myself.

Dark woods like ebony and wenge would probably look good with the antler.

His curly maple is very nice and may just go that way.  What about snakewood?

Your not likely to see many of them. There are only 19 Elk risers out there.Well only 18 out there because I am keeping the one I have.  :D
I have 4 REALLY nice antlers just waiting to be turned into risers.

That is a great thought. I will have to look into that.....

I really like creating bows that have a theme - should be a western theme.  I was looking a some interesting birch but thought it was too light for coloring on riser.

Cedar would be cool! I do have a board of cedar in the shop. It is mostly redish and does not have too much of the light streaks in it.

If you find lite a colored veneer you like that has a nice grain to it.We can stain it darker.

I am leaving for a business trip to WI in a few hours. If you will remind me on monday I will get some pictures of the antlers I have. Then you can choose the one that most tickles you.

Got a set of limbs 4 my elk riser Zipper that's elm on the belly and sassafras on the back.I've had bacote, cocabola, curly maple, black locust, osage, and wenge veneered limbs for this bow.I prefered the dyed maple w/ matching quiver.Although all the other veneers looked good. Especially the black locust.

No pics? I'd sure like to see one of these. I have seen Voodoos but never seen a Zipper Elkaholic yet. I do have some nice antlers and if I ever get the time I would like to build me one; Or maybe just buy one from Bill, I would probably be way ahead.

God bless you all, Steve
