How many carry water with them on a hunt?If so what do you use for a carrier?I just got a nice military style canteen thats BPA-Free and also made in the USA.Check out the web-site  www.CanteenShop.com

Deer archery here in California starts in August . You bet we carry water. The temp can be over 101 easy.
I usually use a camel back.

When I carry water, I usually just take a couple of 16oz bottles of water with me.

I think it's a pretty nice set up, has the cooking system built right in with the canteen, they don't list what it weighs and depending on if your packing in the weight might be a factor, I have seen something like this before, one of the guys at Denton Hill had something very similar. As far as water goes, if you don't want to carry your water get a Sawyer water filter, I hear they are pretty good and I'll be picking up mine pretty soon for this coming camping season.

depends.   In the rockies elk hunting you need to carry lots of h20 I have a camel back bladder.   It is quiet.
In the whitetail tree stand and I take just bottles of water or cokes.

I usually don't take anything to drink, except in the early season. Then I just carry a 12 oz. bottled water. However, I am normally no farther than a few hundred yards from my son's house.

Depends what I am doing... But ya I always carry water. If I am packing in for a bivy hunt then I use water bladders. If I'm just doing a half day then ill take a nalgine bottle or smaller bladder depending on what pack...

WOW!!  I was coming here to post a similar type of question...

I too have been struggling with coming up with a suitable solution to carry water.  I have diabetes and CHRONIC DRY MOUTH caused by taking a lot of medications.  So I have to have something to drink with me pretty much at all times.

I have been having a devil of a time trying to figure out a system that would let me carry the water I need, some basic extras that all of us like to take afield when we hunt, and my arrows.  Ideally I would like to have it all in some type of POSSIBLES BAG or side shoulder bag type of system.

I don't know if you are familiar with them, but if you go to maxpedition.com and click on the link to the VERSIPACKS, you'll see a variety of shoulder bags that are carried on your side.  They have build-in water bottle holders as well as compartments for all the small gear that you'd want to pack as well as a semi-hidden compartment for your CCW pistol.  VERY NICE system, but pricey at about $70 for the Fatboy.  The only thing is I don't know how I would attach a quiver that would allow me to carry 4 or 5 arrows.  I haven't ever much liked a bow mounted quiver, but it may come down to me using one out of it being the only thing left that makes the most sense.

The BOTA bag is also one option that a few have told me about here.  I like the setup and the ease of use of them.

I would like to see more pics of how you guys carry your water afield.

My old favorite is freezing capri sun juice drink pouches,then throw them in my pack.Make no noise.Also pack water.

Used a lot of different types, Iv been using one of these smaller slimline Camelbacks for the last few seasons. I like that it sits out of the way, for stalking and ducking under cover, and I find that if you have to much room to have the tenancy to fill it with crap you think you need. This one take 3ltrs water and has two small pockets for a few extra's I carry. Its tough like hell!

I use a bota bag.  As you lower the water level in it, it doesn't slosh around and make noise like it does in hard sided containers of metal or plastic.

Just bottled for me. I have a small bottle even when deer hunting close to home. It if for washing my hands after field-dressing.

X2,  minus the cokes, and replaced with a flask in case I get lucky!

Bladder.  Our high altitude and Aug seasons make water mandatory.  It is not readily available to be purified, so we carry it.

I always carry at least some water. Platypus bags are my favorite. You can compress the air out as you drink eliminating slosh noise like Orion mentioned about the bota bag. The platypus bags weigh next to nothing, conform to the inside of your pack, are actually pretty durable, and roll up super small. They are a similar bladder type to the camelbac minus the hose that I seem to snag on every branch I walk by.
