If I wear a 10 in my cowboy and work boots, should I order a 9 in the LLbean? The site says they run big. Thanks

I hunted last year in Colorado for elk and a guy on the ranch hunted in his LL Beans.  I have thought to wear mine out there but for an earliy season archery hunt it made sense.  Soft a quiet.  I have a couple pairs that are easily 20+ years old.
