riser crack: safety, warranty
«

I've had this crack rise out of my fairly new riser. It was about two inches long, refinished for free, then has risen out again since - see picture.
My question is: is this a safety issue, and is it worth taking them up on the warranty. I feel bad putting the bowyers out for fixing it/replacing it. Then again, I don't think this should be expected in a new riser either. Thoughts?

I hate to say it, but I think you'll be replacing that riser with or without the warranty. Better to do it now while it's new and certainly before you risk injury by continuing to stress it.

I would have the bowyer build you another bow. These things happen. The bowyer wont have a problem with doing it. He wouldn't want to have it brake anymore than you do. No brainer, send it back. Like Sixby said, don't string it.
