I used hot melt with just a craft style gun and sticks it works great and stays on even after he gets " roughed up"
I angle the wing feathers down more than the fake wings underneath. I also cover the glue with the bronze irredecient feathers also as it look a lot better that the spray paint that comes on it. I have done the same thing with my hens in the past some wing feathers and tails glued on but as they arnt fanned out you really don't need many.
Also you don't want him looking like a top Tom anyway, lifelike yes but rather someone everyone would want to kick his butt. I should try painting a smirk on him.
