New 3 piece Thunderhorn. Couldn't be happier
« on: March 22, 2013, 09:35:00 PM »
Finally got the bow I really wanted.  Turned out even better than I imagined it.  I have only been into traditional archery slightly over a year but early on Duane's bows caught my eye.  I have wanted one ever since.  I can not stop looking at it.  His quiver is also built with the same quality and is a great accent to the bow.  Bow is truly a work of art and a great shooter.  Grip is perfect!  First shot ever centerpunched a tennis ball at 20yds.  Duane tells me he is done taking custom bow orders so I really feel like I hit the lottery with this one.  Cocobolo and bocote riser.  Bocote limbs with antler tips.  58" 55#@28". If it looks familiar, JOEVT's thunderhorn inspired my choice.  I went with bocote instead of his zebrawood.

That is definitely a sweet lookin' bow Gary, congrats!!  What did Duane use for limb cores on your bow?  Also, looks like you have shot some rounds through her......how's she shootin?  Glad this one turned out for you!  :clapper:

I love Duane's bows! My Coup Stick is my go to bow, which I hope to kill a hog with in 2 weeks.

Great looking bow! I have a one piece that has the same woods. I also have a three piece listed in the classifieds, but after viewing this post, I may decide to pull the add.  They are great shooters.
