« on: March 25, 2013, 11:26:00 AM »
Just curious which is heavier?..
Actionwood or actionboo.
..or if there's much difference at all.

Thanks

Bamboo can vary quite a bit as to what it will weigh... thus Actionboo will do the same to some extent but is more stable/consistent then bamboo alone.  I would guess Actionwood would be heavier as the wood is heavier then the grass (boo) to begin with.

Yep.  Action wood is heavier than action boo for the same size piece.  However, to get the same draw weight, actionboo laminations need to be made a little thicker.  Most times, they still turn out lighter overall, but these differences are so small as to be practically unnoticeable.

That is good to know.

Thank you.

Not really trying to split hairs here..but I was wondering if there was a BIG difference...sounds like there really isn't.

I'm thinking of building a bow and thought a-wood wood would look kinda cool as a core..not just veneer.

Thanks again!
