Bow too short?
« on: March 25, 2013, 12:53:00 PM »
So I grabbed a Bamabow takedown hunter off of ****.  60" amo, 50 at 28".  I draw to about 28.5 inches.  I realize that the bow is a little short for my draw.

Should I be worried about anything or should I just hang on to this one for my son?

Thanks!

You should be able to shoot that bow just fine!

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!

60" is a good length for your draw...if it's a recurve. Longbow, would opt for 62" or 64" at your draw.

If it's an expedition hunter, which is his r/d bow, you should be fine. That model, and the royal expedition, are the only ones made in that length, I think?

The photo of the bow just shows the word "hunter" marked on the bow.  The limbs look pretty straight unbraced.  Maybe it was a special order.

Well, either way I should have it by this weekend.  I'll try it out and see how it goes.

Thanks everyone.

Got the bow last night and first let me say wow!  Bamabows makes a great bow. Just beautiful. Light.  Fast.

It shoots better than me so I'm very happy with it. No draw problems even at the 60" length. I was pulling to 28.5 very smoothly.

I'm shooting a 58" bow to a 30" draw.  A little finger pinch and I have to release properly, but that's what makes you a better shot.    ;)

Although, I prefer 64" bows, I shoot 60" bows all the time, and I draw to 30.5". Sorry about the above...no idea what happened.
