Guys, this one was let’s say unexpected in arrival haha, On March 18th I got a call early in the morning while I was at court (one of the annoying parts of my job lol) My wife had just left the doctor’s office and they told her she was in pre labor. Well they told her to go home and drink some concoction of castor oil and oj, and just relax. Well I make the appropriate calls to my chain of command and leave court to head home. Made the call to the Mother N law in east Tenn and she got on the road. I make home around 10am and the contractions were intermittent nothing earth shattering yet. My mother n law arrives around noon, the contractions are still the same. Well around 145 the first Oh my god contraction hits. I tell the wife lets roll. Well we left the house at 206pm. We only live off the highway about a mile, but we have a 30 min drive from our house to Vanderbilt Hospital. As soon as I turn on the Hwy, the contractions came like a tornado. HAHA, I call this the NASHVILLE LABOR DASH. I hammer down the dodge and hoped like none of my brothers or sisters pulled me over because my wife was in exorcist mode. She is telling me to go around people etc. but with all the hollering coming from my passenger seat I remained calm and would not go around traffic at stop lights, way to risky. We pulled into the Vanderbilt ER parking area and the time it took me to put the truck in park and hale an attendant my wife had him on my passenger seat of my truck. A paramedic was right behind the attendant as they came out of the ER and he done his job, granted he was as white a sheet HAHA. Mama and boy are doing fantastic, he is built like a tank, 8lbs 8oz 20.5 inches long Warren McCoy Funk, They came home on March 19th. At some point in my life I must have lived right haha, I feel very lucky and fortunate for the things that have transpired over the last several years, We are enjoying the family time now, I have the next 12 days off. First time since 08-09 that we haven't had something to do etc.
This is Warren in the ER directly from the truck lol, Nurses asked me when I walked in if I was "Dad" I said yes, they said you are awlful calm for everything that is going on, I said he is crying, and mama is fine, so I am a good,
