Arrow spine, setup question
« on: March 29, 2013, 07:14:00 PM »
Hey Gang,
I am shooting a 59# @ 27.5" recurve with St. Axis 400 arrows, 29" shaft, 75 gr insert, 100 gr point.  They fly nice!

I am getting a R/D longbow (Maddog Mountaineer)...62# @ 27.5".  I want to use 170 gr points on the same arrows to make 8 gpp.

Does that sound like a good setup, or will my spine be too weak?

None of the charts go very high on point weight.  Anybody have a similar setup>
Maddog Mountaineer 57# and Prairie Predator 52# Wow!, Samick Sage 35 - 60#,  I'm learning.

I'd guess the deciding factor may be if the longbow is less center cut than the, recurve.  If 1/8 inch or more difference you might be,able to make it work.
