I fly into Colorado on the 12th, shipped my gear last week( dont trust airlines with it). Combo private/public land, some guided, some not. SOme staying in a cabin on the ranch, some bivy/backpack hunting. Bow gear is a Thunderstick MOAB longbow, 60" 57#@28". Hexpine 600 gr arrows with Bear Razorheads. Total of 11 days of hunting.

Been to this area twice before, close but no cigar as of yet.

...stood alone on a montaintop, starin out at a great divide, I could go east, I could go West, it was all up to me to decide, just then I saw a young hawk flyin and my soul began to rise......

Leave here on Friday the 14th return Sunday the 24th.  Going to North Central Colorado, public land, non-guided hunt.  First elk hunt.  Backpacking in about 3-8 miles from trailhead and living in basecamp for 7 days.  Taking my Bob Lee recurve 53# @ 29" and shooting 30.5" 2117 Easton XX78's tipped with Magnus 125gr two blade and G5 B52's 125gr.  About 550Gr total arrow weight.  Buying a cow tag and plan on learning a bunch.  Really, really excited about this trip. Good luck to all of you.  Can't wait to share stories when I get back.
