Ok the story first then the pictures.
In spring of 2011 after 7 years of shooting my one and only bow a Caribow Featherhorn takedown I had the itch to get a new bow. So after much thought and eyeing up the bushbow that had been advertised on the back of TBM magazine my mind was made up and I called Jerry to order a bow. I settled on a 62" bushbow with stained hickory limbs identical to the bow he had used on the add. At the same time my step son was needing a bigger bow so I ordered him a field bow.
Now the cool part... just a week after ordering both bows a used 45# bushbow with spalted pecan limbs popped up for sale. Looked awesome and was about same price as what the fieldbow was gonna be so I called Jerry to see if I could cancel the fieldbow. No problem he said so I bought the 45# bushbow for my son. It arrived and I was floored with how it felt, shot and looked, what a beauty! I then immediately called Jerry and asked if he could change my order on put a set of those Spalted Pecan limbs on my bushbow and he said NOPE cause that spalted pecan was a very unique wood and told me all about it but he is all out of it. The bow I ordered arrive a couple months later and it was awesome and everything I wanted. But I still had an eye for my sons bow as it was such interesting wood.
The other thing I wished I'd of gotten on my bow was a Jack Knife takedown option. So I had plans to get new bow maybe next year.........
Then just a few days ago I about feel out of my chair when I opened up the classifieds on Tradgang and seen a 48# bushbow with spalted pecan limbs and the jack knife option for sale. Yep I could hardly stand the wait between pm's. The bow arrived and it's a beauty!!! And the jack knife takedown is the easiest i've every tried. I ended up being able to fold it in half and stick in my MTM compact plastic arrow case with 5 broadhead tipped wood arrows. What neat package for travel.
My sons bow on left, new to me jack knifed bow in center, and my first bushbow on right.
