Yard Sale Bows. Who's found them?
« on: April 05, 2013, 12:13:00 AM »
I have never been lucky enough to find a good bow at a yard/garage sale.

I know some of us here have had different luck.   Will you tell us about some of your finds please?

Thanks, Skychief.

Bought a Bear Kmag for $10.00 once. It was a beater, but still....

I also bought a box of 40 Bear Razorheads, unused, dirt cheap. I don't remember what I paid, but it was pennies per broadhead.

It's been quite a while ago, but I bought a Bear Grizzly at a yard sale for $5. It was at the bottom of a pile of scrap lumber. The guy was surprised I even wanted it. He and his sons had "moved up" to compounds.

Bought a 35# Bear Montana (almost new) for $35! A dollar a pound. Way too light for me to shoot, but could not pass it up at that price. I use it as my "loaner" bow for friends who want to join me at the range.

Here are my good bow finds: a 60# damon howatt Balboa at a gun show for $12,a 55# mint 70's bear Grizzly at a flea market for $75,a 55# bear Polar longbow at a flea market for $10,and my best find at a small outdoor shop a 55# 1969 bear Super-K for $55. I once read a story of a guy who bought a A-handle custom Kodiak T/D at a garage sale for a whopping $20,he said he couldn't pay fast enough or get out of there quick enough before they changed there mind.
