Osage and anything dark as an accent. I like black or brown glass.

How about Bolivian Rosewood and Purpleheart or East India Rosewood another of my favorites.  Brown glass is my favorite and I think it looks great with most anything.

Shedua, sorry for the poor pic, I was gluing on a new handle.

Still, A very striking bow is a Birdseye Maple/ Curly Maple Pronghorn

Wenge/Myrtle or Wenge/Osage I am really liking Wenge cause the drak stuff is almost as dark as Ebony and you don't have to pay extra. Question, why brown glass instead of just staining the bamboo a nice brown color? Shawn
I would think the Wenge/Osage would look great!

Now Mitch...you know you don't need another bow. Your going to make Bentpole...ol Tom jealous and force him to buy one....your a bad influence.

Brown limbs..a real light brown super actionwood to offset the darker limbs. Tiger wood and Wavy Zebrawood would look neat. A light maple riser or Shedua with a black phenolic flare.

So many options...so little time! Good luck Mitch.

Of those you mentioned shedua or chechen. Chechen would really look good with all the different colors it displays . If you can find shedua with some black figure running thru it that would be hard to beat !!.....Tim

I have an RER LXR with Ziricote riser, Curly Hawaiian Koa veneers on limb backs, brown glass on limb belly....very classy and classic looking bow.

I chose zebrowood because I thought it matched up with the colors of the bamboo and brown glass well.

just be aware if you use osage that it will darken to a deep chocolate color from sunlight exposure....so if you are looking for contrast...it will be lost after a couple years depending on how much time it gets UV light.

I have Osage Bows and they get a deep  color but never ever chocolate.  You could go with yellowheart and wenge if you were worried about Osage and it would give ya a bit more weight in the Riser too! Shawn

I think Brazilian Walnut, "Ipe" or Iron wood goes real well with brown glass...

Brazilian Walnut or Iron Wood makes a very nice riser too. very dense hardwood with good mass weight to it.... I prefer this wood over a lot of exotics out there.   Kirk

Like copper roofs...plan ahead  ;)  They'll be green after a while.

I like the darkness of aged osage...and the yellow of the new. Win/Win

Mitch, some good advice and choices have been given. I like the idea of Zebrawood.

I am trying to visualize a wood and brown glass overlays on the back of the riser and limb tips. I came up with 2 woods that I believe would be sweet.

Birdseye Maple (lightly stained)
Myrtlewood

I think some pretty Myrtlewood would look outstanding!!

yours never get to a milk chocolate color...a deep mahogany brown color?  Mine do....  I got one that never goes outside...stays on wall across room out of sunlight and is already a chocolate milk color....
the bow on top is osage...

I like walnut, shedua, bubinga and zebrawood with brown glass for the contrast...i think cocobola and rosewood are better with black glass depending if it is Brazilian or Indian as some can be more red and dark while others are light and more brown.
