Fedora "base" bow
« on: April 13, 2013, 01:54:00 AM »
I would really like to be able to spend the money for a Fedora one piece recurve in other than the base model, but I just can't justify such.  Does anyone have one of his base models?  What can you tell me about it, good or bad?  How does it shoot compared to the more expensive limb materials?  What about compared to a bow ith more limb laminations?
Thanks again

The Fedora H560 one piece is a screamer not matter what limb material you get. All about design....

I asked for the base model when I ordered my left handed 560. I wanted Gray Actionwood riser with matching gray actionwood limbs. Mike decided on his own to give me Bamboo limbs. I really didn't care.

I shot a basic Fedora for 3 months prior to ordering mine. Honestly, no difference in performance. I really like the looks of the Brown Actionwood riser and brown Actionwood limbs. Stay with the base bow but make sure you send in a print of your bow hand so Mike can copy it. Also, I love the thumb rest. Positive hand placement every time.

I even had Jack Kempf put small thumb "ledges" on both my Stealth and Longbow. Finally, did I say performance? The H560 is a real SHOOTER along with being smooth and stable.

Over the years I have had several Fedora's including base models and they have all been outstanding. Mike does make a limb that has extra lams in the core and that bow does shoot faster than others, but as Joe said all his bows are screamers, they are also way overbuilt you will not have any nasty surprises with any Fedora bows.   :archer2:

3Xs on what Joe and Bjorn have said, you cannot go wrong with any of Mikes bows, whether it is a base model or his top shelf stuff. great performers and stable easy shooters. Shawn
