Left the decoys at home this morning opting to sit in a blind along a route that a big group of birds have been burning up. No hens showed with the lead longbeard and no gobbling heard after pitching down. I did, however, manage to lure this lone bird into range mid-day by calling once on a box call and then scratching in the leaves after I spotted him at 100 yards as he searched for what made the hen call on the box. I usually have to work a lot harder to tag a bird but I'm not complaining:^)
