Started to find a little sign along the main trail.
No acorns on the oaks again this year. It might be due to the drought or the "pruning" bugs that lop off the ends of the oak branches. I'm not really sure, but maybe the black cherry trees (that are everywhere around here) will be the key to finding the deer here. I'm not sure if they eat them, but I figure they probably do.Anybody know for sure?
On a side note; I don't know exactly what is making these dens, but there's quite a few of them dug into the hillside. Coyotes? Foxes? Badgers?
They might have something to do with this:
It's hard to tell from the picture, but there is deer hair in there. Yotes I would imagine. I hear them from time to time late at night.
Anyway, I'll keep going out there till I figure it out, cause I'm not used to finding a good spot to hunt in an area this large.I really to get a better camera! I coulda got a shot of a Bald Eagle if I'd had a good zoom lens.
