NEW ARROWS FOR THE Two Tracks "Dualie" LongWalker
« on: April 16, 2013, 06:58:00 PM »
I finished up this bow and delivered it to my friend Michael today.
Michael is the head man at the Demmer Center, check out the link to this fantastic Shooting Facility.   http://demmercenter.msu.edu/

He contacted me last fall about a longbow and he said he would really like a dual shelf if possible. I played around with ideas and combinations a decided this would do nicely. The bow is made from all Michigan hardwoods chosen by Michael. Fire tempered Osage for the back and figured walnut for the belly and some edge grained walnut for the center core lamination.
The riser is some very nice Black walnut With an Osage I-Beam and I reinforced the riser with 3/8" of fiber glass. I used a new Riser configuration on this build and it worked very well.
Michael is a new shooter and wanted something to learn with, the bow specs out at 35#@26" and is 66" long.
I enjoyed a few hours at the Demmer Center shooting with Michael and getting him set up and comfortable with the bow. Enjoy the pics.

Sweet looking bow Chuck.  Now that gets me to thinking...If you can take that much off of each side and not loose stability, can you cut one side 3/16" PAST center?

Thank you Mike.
Don't forget about all of that glass. It is not as thin thru the sight window as you might think.
The glass showed up strange in the pictures for some reason. I used alternating black/clear with one brown in the center.
I worked out well.

This is the second dual shelf I've seen recently and it definitely has merit. It's so slick to just switch the glove over and shoot from the other side.

Other than that terrible green and white background, that's a beautiful shooting center. A pleasing blue and yellow would go down so much better   :)

Very nice looking bow. But the ugly woman wearing the green dress ruined the picture. Go Blue !!! lol
