I love cocobolo
« on: April 23, 2013, 09:06:00 PM »
I just had to share a pic of the new 59 Bigriver I`m spraying for John. He made it for my friend Dave Ricke (knifemaker) What a beauty John made with Dave`s cocobolo piece. Had to share.

I have a Good Medicine T/D from Dale Dye--Coco with an accent stripe of golden brown Osage. FINE! Having a matching one piece made that will be Osage with an accent of Coco. Cocobola...looks like chocolate tastes!

Cocobolo is one of my favorites.......That's a nice one!!

I love it too.  That and waterfall bubinga are two of my all time favorite woods.

Nice wood contrast there.

That spray job isn't too shabby either.

Is that Birdseye maple? I sure love Cocobolo, very classy. I like bubinga too, I own a bow with waterfall Bubinga limbs, hard to beat that!

However my last bow has a Bacote/Wenge riser and bacote limbs. That's also unbelieveable!

That's he nice thing about wood....each wood has its own beauty...
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that string! [/i]

I'm a fan also. It's also a dense wood and adds the weight that I like in the risers.

Beautiful.  Love the gloss finish really highlights the grain.  The matching knife Ricke must be making to compliment the bow should be fantastic.
