Lots of good stories to tell.  Jeff and I got to SC last night about midnight and I'm so tired i can't see straight.  Joe had to attend a funeral unexpectedly today.  Mike had sick ones to get home to so we're all a bit saddle sore.  Be patient with us ... it'll be fun.

Upon further review, it appears Whip just hand grappled his by the looks of his leather work glove he has on and no arrows present.

That really wasn't my plan Julian - honest it wasn't!
I'll get to my version of what happened eventually, but there are a bunch of stories that lead up to it, so this may take a bit....  ;)

Just back home from Nebraska late last night, then north for a funeral today.  I'll get to work on pictures, and will add stories as we go.

First a little background....
This was Julian and my second trip to the Klintworth ranch in Nebraska.  We were both there last year with Joebuck and crew.  He couldn't make the trip this year, but that didn't stop us.  And with no arm twisting needed, Jeff Springer (Tippit) Mike Davenport (wapiti792) and David Gage (SheltonCreeker)  joined us for this years assult on the Nebraska turkey population.

Stay tuned - you are not going to believe it!

What a day back to work after a long drive Saturday...I missed out on the tail end of the hunt, with David and I leaving begrudgingly a half-day earlier. My wife took one for the team...business meetings in my place, hurl detail with 2 kids at home, and unpacking boxes in our new house while I got to go hunt with guys that I respect and admire...except David. He's a quitter    :p   Just kidding brother...it was Whip who said that, remember. Same guy who bailed on his filming duties and whacked a longbeard  :)

All I can say to set this up before I crash is that Nick Klintworth and his great family are some of the nicest folks I have ever met. They never stop on that ranch, and raising respectful, hardworking kids is no accident. It was a pleasure to be part of the group of guys I hunted with, and it was an honor to be invited on a hunt of this magnitude. As for the hunting story, I can't wait to read it start to finish, and I was there for a lot of it! So while I am loading pics and getting my thoughts together, as well as preparing my St. Jude auction items, be patient...this is gonna be crazy good    :campfire:

I had driven through most of Iowa last Tuesday, and conducted a grocery raid before holing up in a motel for the night.  The next morning I picked up Julian and Jeff at the Omaha airport and we headed on west to the Klintworth ranch.

Mike and David had pulled in just moments before us and were standing around with their jaws hanging open at the sight of all the turkeys on the property.  This place is paradise to anyone who loves chasing longbeards with a bow!

Gear was unpacked, food stashed, and bows assembled and strung.  Plans were laid for the morning to follow.
