I saw the website for these, look like really nice heads, anybody ever try them?

I don't have a clue which ones you are asking about. There are many solid broadheads being made. A brand and model would help.

Its the Solid S30V Broadhead. Looks to be a fantastic head, just wondering if anybody has tried them yet?

This grade of steel is superb, wish they had heads heavier and looked a bit more trad.

They are a bit expensive I'll give you that. That S30V steel is outstanding however. Very tight tolerances in their specs, look to be very strong. Should be a fantastic elk head for sure!

Kinda reminds me of the German Kinetics. Awful lot of nice broadheads being made these days with matching price tags. I'll stick with my proven Zwickeys and Magnus, although even the Magnus has risen in price lately. I can buy a six pack just over the cost of one head.

Has anybody taken the plunge on these? Yes they are expensive, but most of us use $400+ bows, $100 arrows n then worry about the cost of the thing that actually puts animals down? I shoot VPA because they are high quality heads, I will buy some of these eventually. I appreciaye quality, and the owner has been very prompt with responses, plus they are made here in America

They look well enough made, but rather short and wide for my tastes. Convex blade isn't the easiest to sharpen. Think I'd also have a problem trying to glue them on my woodies.

A Mercedes cost more than a Toyota, but they both get you to work. If you have the money, you have the choice.

My buddy said he can get me some at $25 each. I think that is still too high. That is just me though! If you want them get them. Let us know how they perform.

They are wide and rather short, among the things revealed by Ed Ashby's studies is that these will not be great penetrators. A better shaped, razor sharp and considerably cheaper head will probably be a better performer.

I do wish they came in 175 grain as well but I can always screw some more weight into my insert to make up for it. Hah yea they won't work to well on woodies

I think they may be geared more towards the compound crowd, but regardless when I watched the owner shoot them through steel multiple times and plywood n they still shaved hair?!? Pretty impressive. I guess I have an issue with always wanting to try something new!

I just saw these and am going to test some soon. They make a "deep six" in 125gr that will match up great with the new Easton Axix traditional wood grain arrows.

While Dr. Ashby has his followers and I've read all the tests, many broadhead makers themselves, after many years of tests, can show that short and stout out penentrates a longer single bevel, especially with lower weight bows, as has also been my experience with several hundred bow kills.

For example, the short and stout Steelforce Phathead is still about the only head I know of to get a passthru on a giraffe.

But to each his own.

I think these Solid Heads are going to be fantastic matched up with the new Axis arrows and light weight bows.

My main interest is that they seem to be well matched head for the "Deep Six" brass insert and small diameter Easton arrow.

I just picked up some in 500 for my low 40's bows and ordered some 600's for my high 30's bows.
