I've shot lots of squirrels, gophers, and rabbits.  Haven't taken any deer yet.  In the only area I have convenient access to hunt, there aren't many deer.
Life is a whole lot easier when you just plow around the stump.

Never had a shot on big game with my bow. But I only get four or five days during bow season due to school work, and I am in meat mode once the snow falls(rifles can be traditional if they are an old and special family heirloom, right?)

Wannabe1 you can come to TN any time and hunt whitetails we've got a ton of them! I don't think I would ever trade them but I would be lying if I said I wasn't jealous that y'all have bears, blacktail, elk, and sheep!

Hope this all changes in a few months.

It has been so long that it feels like I haven't.

I killed a blacktail when I was stationed in California back in 1989.  Hopefully, I'll make it happen this fall.

I am still after my first deer or turkey with trad gear...
This fall will be my 4th season trad.  I don't get out as much as many folks do so I don't feel too badly.

Last fall I had my first trad shots.  3 clean misses.  Two were too high and one major deflection.

I have learned a ton about hunting and love it.  I feel great about this fall.  I know what I need to do better and better each season

Still looking for my first with traditional tackle.  Been at it for five years now.  Seems like the majority of my time in the woods lately is just hoping to see a deer period.  Always hopefull and ready.

I'm still looking for my first anything.  God willing this will be my year.  I have a new job, will have a car or a pickup soon, so now I can finally hunt often.  The future looks bright.

Guys remember if you don't shoot you cannot kill anything. Not saying to take bad shots but sometimes you have to take a chance. RonW 45 years, if you want a shot call me in Oct. I can give you a chance if ya give me 2 days. Shawn

I got a shot at a yearling bull elk a few years back. Albeit, it was a quick decision shot but, it was my first at big game. I'm not afraid to take a shot but, an opportunity has to present itself first!   :D

I have been at this for 6 years! I have shot at deer. I have missed every time. I want to blame it on everything and anything. I still enjoy being the woods. I still enjoy shooting. I  enjoy being with friends who shoot. I know that one day I will connect. I have come very close. I can get to the right spot and see deer. Good friends have taught me how to shoot. Its been good so far.  :)

Still working on it...a couple of close opportunities on a buck at 18yds, doe at 9 yds and 2 30lb hogs...always something that prevented an ethical shot.
