PA Bird…..
« on: May 07, 2013, 10:11:00 AM »
Well, my second bird of the year, first one from my home state, and first one I remembered to put a camera in the pack.

Small bird, but it sure was a fun hunt!   :D

Two for two with my recently acquired 1960 Grizzly…..

Not very good pictures…..I was racing to beat a rainstorm this morning, and I made it by five minutes.

Broke his wingbutt going in, and could not get that drooping wing to stay in place without taking more time than mother nature was going to allow.

Oh yea, had to stretch out the old Bear bow on this shot……my rangefinder would not take a reading, so it was under 6 yards. I`m guessing about 4 yards.   :archer2:

Craig, I got this bird in the southwest corner of PA…….about 5 miles from Ohio Pyle, PA.

Randy, I shot this 4" jake out of a DB blind. Between me and my buddies we have probably killed 20 birds out of the blind that were 6 yards or closer. Dress in black, and keep the blind closed up pretty tight……you can draw while they are looking your way.

Congrats!
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

That area is a sleeper...

Back in E. PA, it's not a target rich environment!

That is still a super accomplishment among our pressured birds to get one with a bow!   :notworthy:
