We got some much needed rain yesterday. I thought it might make the pigs get out in the daylight, so I took a little stroll..
I came on a few shoats and when I saw them they were about 40 yards or so. The ground was wet and I was able to move quietly except for the abundant sticks all over.. It was like walking through a maze on the ground. It was with poor timing that I was way out of position when the pigs saw me.. I had my right foot way out it front and crossed over my left stepping over some sticks.. I was about to tip over but regained my balance and just stood there. They moved off my center over to my right. Now I was really out of postion..
They were about to catch my wind so I thought I'd better shoot. I had my 68" Wesley that's 63lbs at my draw. I pulled the string to full draw or as close as I could get to it and let the arrow fly. The pig was only 20 yards or so but I managed to darn near miss. The arrow took him high in the flank.. It tickled his backbone and made it easy to slip in for a second shot.
I hadn't had this bow out in a couple of months and thought it needed some excercise! When I'm hunting with this bow good endings seem to happen even when bad things happen...
RC, reckon this one will eat ??
