I understand where he's coming from, the least someone could do is say thank you for sending the pictures.  Even if I get that phone call from a salesmen I say "No thank you" and if I go to the store and ask for help, but may not buy, I say "thank you".  Momma (and the good Lord) always said treat others as you'd like to be treated.  Just sayin'...

If you post "for sale or trade" you have to expect some questions and request for pics if you didn't post any to start with.

When I see a listing for a bow that twicks my interest I look at the full add. If there are no pics in the listing I normally move on to another listing. Adding pics can tell me pretty quick if it's something I might want.

I know not everyone has the ability to post pics due to when and where they list. Still, no pics for me means lack of need or want to sell.

As for low ball offers??? It's just part of the business. Everyone's always looking for a better deal.

I like the phrase "bow porn".

As others have said - save yourself a lot of work and just post pictures.  If you are not able to post pictures for some reason post the url to a site (photobucket, snapfish, etc.) where you have placed pictures so they can go look at them whenever they want.

More lookers than buyers they want to compare their bows with yours to see the best of the best maybe? Just a thought. Its the low ballers and you know who you areze. Some have no intention of buying just to see how low you will go.Its a game to them or they want to resell and profit off an already low price.

I'm not talking about known stand up guys on this site either who are gentilman I'm talking about others that have few posts and who knows where they come from?

Buy and selling bows come with variables and sometimes they aren't pleasurable.

I have had a few sold I thought from under me and others have PMed me that I bought from under them when I didn't have anything to do with it other than step up with the money the seller sold to me.

You have to take it as it comes that don't make it any more pleasurable.

All part of life as the world turns.

I build my own and will probably never buy another, but I do like to browse the classifieds just to look at pretty bows.  There's lots of times that I see a bow listed I'd like to look at but there's no pics.  Since I know I'm not going to buy, I don't bother the seller to request pics.  So I think both lookers and sellers should do their part.  Sellers should learn to post pics if they're serious about selling, and lookers shouldn't bother a seller if they know full well they are not going to buy a bow.  Saves everyone time.

I don't have a problem with sending pics out to several people in response to an ad.  I figure they are a bit more serious if they took the time to ask for pics.  If they are just window shopping, fine.
But what kills me is low ballers.  Offer considerably less than the asking price.  I had a few recently that were pretty insulting low offers.  And it seems many guys will try to get the bow for say $50 less than asking price.
I do like the fact that I see response from many of the same people I have dealt with in the past.  We seem to like the same types and swap them back and forth.  There are a few guys here I have bought and sold several bows from.

What's wrong with posting a pic in the first place?

Just wondering?

Not everyone is as Computer savy as the next or even have a digital camera. I have a couple of friends that post pics for me. I'm low tech, heck my phone is still on the wall!!

I always try to post several pics. I am always asked for an additional pic of some part of the bow that didn't show up well. It's all part of the process, posting as many informative pics as you can will weed out many of the nonbuyers.

As has been said, post photos in the original post and you should take care of most of this.
I also have to say, though, just because I ask for photos, doesn't mean "I'll take it."
Personally, a bow's appearance has been the deciding factor often.  You may want a '86 Buick Grand National, but you  certainly wouldn't buy it without seeing it.  And then, the wrong appearance can kill the deal.
Just post good, detailed photos first.  List all the information you have about the bow in that post.  That should slow down a lot of the "window shoppers."

I have to agree with the bunch that says post pictures when you place the bow up. I usually don't even consider ones that don't have pictures, unless it's one I'm really interested in.

Don't you guys who don't like it when people offer a lower price set your price higher than you want? That way you leave yourself wiggle room. If you only want 250 then post for 300 that way you might get more than you want but, if after some haggling you knock off 50 you still have sold it for what you want and the other guy is pleased with his haggling skills ....win win I think.

If an ad interests me and I "might" buy I'll need a pic to help in the decision process. I'm always looking for anything appealing, but, if the seller doesn't take the time to post a pic or send pics, then buyer beware.

Two in the classified have my interest now and prices are good, but deciding to part with possible St. Jude's funds at this time of year it better be real good. Pics help determine if they are real good.

Sometimes lack of pictures doesn't bother me as I am familiar with any of the bows I might be interested in. That said, I will want to see some if I am intending to buy for sure.
I tend to set the price on one I am selling a bit high cause you have to plan for shipping expenses and buyers should remember that also. A seller has to shell out $25 or more to get the bow to you so it's not money in his pocket. I usually expect someone to haggle a bit so I plan for that.

Yea, it's a lot easier to post pics in the first place. I try not to ask for pics unless I am seriously interested in the item because I know it is a hassle to send out pics to each person.
I have never had a bad experience buying or selling on here.

posting pics - GOOD pics - with any classifieds ad is Mandatory if you want to get something noticed and sold the fastest.

if there are no pics, i will suspect one of the following ...

1. the seller doesn't know how to post images online, and/or doesn't care and/or is just plain lazy.  all are dumb reasons that will guarantee a loss of traffic and interest and sales.

2. the seller is looking to hide the condition of what's being sold/traded.  if no images, mostly i'll pass.  however, if the item is exactly what i'm after i'll email/pm for images.  i will *always* reply to the sender whence i receive the images - that's just plain good etiquette.  as long as my reply is cordial, that's all that matters and it might be as short and as simple as "no thank you, sir."  that's all ya gotta do.

ymmv.
