This is the first time I try to download pictures so hopefully I did this right. Here are a couple of pictures of 2 pigs that are on a little lease my brother and I hunt in MS.
I actually jumped both of them about 30 minutes apart while turkey hunting this spring. They are both over 200 lbs. The first one was too far for a shot but the second one jumped up in front of me at about 40 yards. He started walking to my right and I tried to slip it in a gap between the pine trees. Took me 20 minutes to get that Woodsman out of that tree!  Hopefully my brother or I can get a shot a one or both of these next time we go up. If not I will hire Pat B and see if he will split the sausage with me after he wacks em both in the same day!!

And he'll probably do it with a single shot...

Whereabouts in MS John? We got pics of a few last summer ( first time ever in our neck or the woods) but haven't seen them since.. We're in Bolton/ Edwards area.

Cool! Hope you get a shot at them again.

And nice ones at that. Good luck getting them!

Cool find! Something extra to chase is always nice

graybark, We are between Brookhaven and Natchez near Meadville. Seen some tracks of a few smaller pigs during deer season but they evidently were just passing through. These are the only ones I have laid eyes on and the only ones on camera.

Sorry but I hate the thoughts of hogs on any lease unless that is what it is for. They wreak havoc on a piece of property!! I believe in NY we are allowed to shoot any pigs that are loose in the wild so they do not spread!! If you are excited about it, I am glad for you and hope ya kill them all!! Shawn

I'm with Shawn. If you are looking for piggies there then great and I am stoked for you, but we are doing everything in our power up here to eradicate them. I mean "judas" pigs, helicopters and assault rifles, poison, trapping , dogs, you name it and we are trying to slaughter them.

We have done all that down here in TX and it has done no good! There is only two kinds of ranches down here - those that have pigs, and those that are going to have pigs!

Good luck getting another crack at them!

There's no way to get rid of them. At all. Ours we saw will be back . Yea, they'll tear up the place but the way I look at it is it'll give us something to hunt all the time

Don't let them get started.  Cock Roaches with fur.  KAP=Kill all pigs, any how, any way, any time.

Pigs on the lease are a statement of fact as evidenced by the pictures. It is not a welcomed thing, just reality and I will operate in that reality and seek their demise with my bow at every opportunity. I am very aware of all the damage they can do, the disease they can possibly carry etc. We are near a river and the folks we know up there tell us that they come and go up and down the river. I did not invite them to the lease but I will extend an invitation to a bouchiere as soon as I get a chance.

Is there a way to keep the deer out and just create a hog lease? (just kidding, sorta)
If you are able to put up a feeder, the hogs will be easier to pattern and shoot.
In a lot of ways, they are a superior game animal to most big game. Whenever I hear people complain about having hogs I scratch my head.
(I can undertstand with farmers and ranchers)
To me, it's kind of like having a bikini model move in to the house next door.

Pigs can become a problem when you use fences and feeders. Where I hunt there are deer, turkeys and pigs. Everybody gets along just fine.   :archer2:

I agree! Not only do I like to shoot pigs, I enjoy eating them also!
