Takedown

Now that I attended my first shoot,"Whittingham" and liked it.. I realized the convienence of a takedown..my buddy I went with didn`t bother to clean out the back if his car,so my Savannah was jammed into spaces that made me feel uncomfortable. So I was wondering what are some of the more popular takedowns available..some pics of yours would be great.

I have a Bear B handle TD and it is my fave . There are many good ones out there but the Bear needs no tools and is quick to take apart and put back together .

I love my bigjim 2 peice and 3 peice he makes remember you can always get limb bolts to use on 3 piece bows for no tool take downs

There are a lot of great takedown bows out there some of which have already been mentioned. I would suggest using a padded bow case or a bow sock. I have had the same thing happen to me before on two different occasions.

A friend of mine and I had the opportunity to spend a week hunting with Rod Jenkins a couple weeks ago. We were both amazed when he had a duffle bag full of bows. He used a duffle bag and his Safari Tuff take-down cases, it was surprising to say the least just how little room a take-down bow in his cases takes up.

Remember when you take your bow apart to loop the string ends together so your brace height does not change.

I shoot a 3 piece JOURNEYMAN Recurve that came with antler limb bolts so taking my bow down is very simple, with no tools required. Not only is this bow east to travel with it shoots better than any other bow that I have tried, and the list is long.

Mines a 3 piece T/D Timberghost. There are many different ones, I've had the Widows, Martins, Zippers, etc. and all are great bows. God bless.

Plan a trip to Denton Hill this summer where you can meet the bowyers and shoot their bows. You shouldn't have any problems finding a bow that will meet all your needs.

The 2-piece no-tool takedowns are nice.  Real quick and easy to take apart and put back together, in seconds!

Denton is a bit far from me..bout 6 1/2hr ride..

How is that too far? I bet that the majority of the people there have traveled at least that far to get there. It is a big time and shouldn't be missed.
