I'm seeing mostly people already from Kentucky that may know all this but is there any local butchers nearby  that can hang the deer in a cooler till I left,, I'd pay to quarter it if that helped,, if this is an open invitation I'm interested in hearing the dates..

Brian if your going I'm sure I'll have my new Morning Star.

The dates are set its a open invite there's plenty room for everyone I can't tell you about local butchers we always use coolers I can tell everyone that you have to have a ky license  an deer tag an you it's purchase a LBL user permit that is 20 bucks that allows you 2 deer 1 buck an 1 doe or 2 does I think a out of state tag is around 250 so if your coming from out of state be sure to check that out

60 minutes from the house ...I think I can swing that.  As mentioned earlier, permanone is a must that time of year. I know of several deer processors within 30-60 minutes depending on where in LBL you are. This will be a WARM weather hunt with opportunity for getting one in velvet.

Jerry,do you want to pick a specific area at the campground and tell everyone so others can make reservations (although probably not necessary) or at least know where we'll be? Maybe a site close to both tent and camper spots as well as close to facilities?

Sounds like a good time. I will be in FL at Surf Expo.  Don't think the hubby would like it if I joined anyways    ;)
Have a great time and keep us all updated!

I just spent a couple nights camping at Hillman Ferry in LBL.  This campground has everything you could need. I'm looking forward to this trip.

If you look on lbl.org under "alerts" it shows the 65 miles of road systems insidr LBL to be closed off to vehicular traffic to offset budget cuts there....

Some of the campgrounds have cabins, but not Hillmans ferry.
The more closed roads the better. Easier access to hunting without traffic.  You can actually rent a bicycle at Hillman's ferry campground.
Go to lbl.org for more info on the area including maps.

what does everyone think about backwoods camping .you will have to drive a couple miles to take a shower but we can set up a target an shoot a little that way because you cant shoot in the campgrounds we can pick a spot an let everyone know how to get to it
