comparison- Dryad Epic LB vs ACS 4G & CG
« on: May 22, 2013, 11:38:00 PM »
I have a Dryad Orion riser with Epic longbow limbs, I'd like a set of ACS limbs for it. How does the draw cycle of the 4G and CG feel compared to the Epic?? I'm absolutely in love with the Epic/Orion combo, I'm sure the ACS feels a little different but is it significant. I have a set of the ACS Legend limbs on an ILF setup and they are incredible, so incredible, they set me on this course to get a bolt down model from Dryad I was all set on getting a pair of the Orion ACS RC limbs, but then I got the longbow and man I like it.

I think the ACS limbs feel lighter and smoother on the draw.  I can't say I can tell a lot of difference between the feel of the 4G vs CG.  Love those 4G's for the $. Those are my choice in a limb.

I've had both the 4G and the CG's. I would say get the 4G's. They are smooth and super fast. I just don't think you get enough of an increase in performance to justify buying the CG's. My 2 cents.

Check out the Dryad website.  They are advertising they will be attending the Colorado traditional shoot in mid-June.  Looks like you may have a chance to try the limbs out at the shoot.

I thought the Dryad Orion is a bolt down limb riser and the Epic riser is an ILF riser for ILF limbs whether recurve or longbow Epic limbs?

David,

Yep we will be at the Colorado Traditional Archery Society shoot in June.  It will be a good chance to try some different limbs for yourself.

Can insure we will have the weight your looking for but should have a few of each type.

Also Orion is the bolt-down riser and Epic the ILF.

Yeah I'm lucky enough to be working that weekend. I  have both an Orion with epic limbs and an ilf riser with legend limbs. I'm enjoying the Orion more.

Ok, I have legend limbs on an ilf riser and regular longbow limbs whatever they are called  on an Orion riser, just got the longbow setup off the classifieds and only shot it a little before I put it away. Was messing up my shooting with the legends,  and that's what I'm using for Turkey hunting. Ya'll have so many models, I get confused;-)

David,

We'll be at the shoot pretty early on Friday to set up.  Maybe you could come by and shoot some then.
