Brass inserts 50 or 100

I have got my arrows tuned really well with 50 grain brass inserts and 175 grain tips. I have found I do not have near the options in 175 grain broad heads as I do 125. If i switch to 100 grain inserts and 125 grain heads. Will I see any difference. It is the same weight but the inserts are longer.  The arrows are GT Traditionals cut 28.5" out of a 52 lb Timberhawk Monarch.  47 lb at my draw.

I think it'd be no difference. Also they sell the 50grain insert weights that screw into the back of the insert from the nock end.

I use them on all my carbons and I love them. It's a bit of an investment initially, but now I only have to buy 125grain broadheads. I've got a pile of the brass insert weights in 20 and 50 grains and use them to adjust teh total point weight. I've used them with the GT 100 grain brass inserts and the normal GT aluminum inserts with good success. They work on other inserts as wella s long as there threaded all the way through to the back of the insert. otherwise you'll have to run a a tap through the insert.

It may be worth testing first. The 100gr inserts are about a half inch longer than the 50gr & will act as a footing,possibly giving you a stiffer spine.

One thing to consider is that a 175 gr head is a little beefier than a 125 which could help on a bad hit.  Shouldn't make much difference either way, though.

I tune all my arrows to use 100gr brass inserts and 125gr heads because the selection of heads either broadheads or small game heads is immense. That being said I use the aluminum inserts that come with my arrows with 200gr VPA broadheads for the size of the head and that combo is the same weight and tunes the same as the brass inserts for the best of both worlds.

If your arrows are tuned with that setup then most likely the other setup will not work because it is not any heavier up front but you have a longer internal footing because 100 grain brass inserts are much longer than 50 grain inserts.

I went from 50 gr inserts and 150gr head to a standard 16gr insert and a 200gr head and there wasnt much difference if any.

I used brass inserts on my first arrows when I started out.  Then decided to forgo the extra expense and just use the regular inserts and increase my tip weight.  I buy the glue on bh's and then epoxy the insert weight I need to get the bh weight the same as I tuned with field tips.  This lets me have different setups with different bows and I can make up, or reset bhs if I change bows.  Works for me. I think if helps a little with foc if that is of any importance to you.
