A farmer friend told me that some pigs were getting in his maize crop.
This afternoon the wind was good for slipping around his field. There is a horseshoe shaped slough that goes around the crop.
As I eased around the field I took several practice shots with an arrow tipped with an ACE hex head. I seemed to be shooting pretty well so I put the practice arrow back in my quiver and concentrated on the task at hand.
After 30 or 40 minutes I saw a couple of pigs on the edge of the slough. I closed the distance until I was about 25 yards away. This nice sow was rubbing on a small sapling when the arrow caught her behind the shoulder. She ran in a 20 yard circle and went down.. The 60# Wesley Special continues to treat me well..This pig fell to a Zwickey No Mercy broadhead..
