St Jude 4 Inch Piece of Tippit Steel....Surprise!

I was flabbergasted today when I contacted Benny (winner of 4 Inch Piece of Tippit Steel).  I had assumed he would want the the finished Bare Bone Blade with the Curly Maple handle especially since he bid it to $675.  Nope he said "Really have my heart set on a bare bones blade."  I'm really thrilled that he bid it up for the Kids...But a bare 4 inches of steel for $675                

So I hired him to be my tester.  I included my Horse Stall Mat blade to get an opinion on which one he preferred.  I carry both but the horse stall mat handle is the hardest handle material to work as the grinder whats to rip it out of your hands.  But the grip of the rubber horse stall mat is excellent even though it's a bit ugly.  Thanks Benny for all your support for the Kids...tippit

As soon as I get some sheaths made, these will be off to Benny...

Thunder storms here all day.  Good day for leather work...sheaths are made and ready for mailing.  I would have put my stamp on the leather but I took most of my knives & stamp back to Boston.  Good reason to meet up sometime Benny

Man...I am just blowed away by Jeffs generosity. I can't wait to get my hands on them and put'em to use. Thanks again for putting your knives up for the the kids.

Great job both of you! Jeff and his blades are truly one of a kind.Had a chance to check out the horsematt handle this spring. It is some great handle material IMHO.
