Wood arrow making

Question for you wood arrow makers.  I have used Bohning products for many years and want to transition to other products.  Can you dip over a Bohning crown and testors crest with Profin without the crown or cresting running and is Duco compatible with the profin for fetching?  Thanks.

Use profin and duco all the time. One coat profin, tape off crown and spray paint the color I want. Two more coats profin, then fletch.

Thanks.  How about dipping over the crown and testors with profin.  Any problem?  I've been a cedar man but with all the info about Surewood DF on this site I bought some of their premium tapered shafts and they are beauties.  Don't want to ruin them.

I would also like to know, can you dip profin, are should it be wiped on.

I dip pro fin, I've used Rust Oleum Painters touch and Krylon spray paint. Pro fin is really thin so it helps to have  something to catch the excess. Probably could brush it on never tried it.

Bohning products are pretty good, but they are also unique.  They are made to work well within the family, but they don't generally play well with others.  You can give it a try, but I'd try with one or two arrows at first, not a whole dz.  I have my doubts that the Profin will bond well to the Bohning.
