My only problem with wood, is that I'd be to afraid to damage such a work of art!

Joe...that's the 5.5" Swift fletch.  3Rivers sells the chopper for it.

I'd like to see a 5" version, but my arrows fly really great with that fletch and quite a few guys like it.

I only use wood arrows as well. I don't really have the time or skill to make my own, so I buy mine from Ted at Raptor Archery. I prefer the Raptor cut fletching for both the looks and performance with selfbows. And I agree that life is too short to hunt with ugly arrows haha

Two of my bows like Traditional Only carbon 400, two other bows like aluminum 2117.
All four of these bows are Bear TDs from 50 to 53 pounds with SBD 6strand strings. Regular FF strings would require much weaker spine.

Man, it seems as though there is a lot more wood arrow guys on here than I had thought. I have heard a lot of mixed reviews on wood and I have always shot GT 5575s or 2117s. I have been contemplating buying some woodies for my new to me HH Owl. The only issue I am having is getting the right one's. I can't just swap out tips and what not, while tuning the bow if they don't spine well.

"To aluminum, or carbon, that is the question:
Whether 'tis Nobler in the mind to suffer
The Slings and Arrows of outrageous Fortune,
Or to take Arms against a Sea of troubles...."

" I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me wood, or give me death. "

I'd rather have wood than suffer the arrows of outrageous fortune against a sea of troubles.

Wood-hickory, poplar, ash, ramin, fir, spruce, laminated birch, chundoo.
