unfortunately, 2 trad seasons in the books and no trad elk to show for it, got a trad whitetail deer, and a trad grouse last season though. Two critters that always eluded me with wheels, so hopefully the ice is broke and this will be the year!

I didn't let the air out of an elk last year... but got some cool video of bulls playing in wallows. This should get your juices flowing! {Click to play}

Alright, that's not fair.  Never hunted them and it seems like it's such a far reaching goal.  That video didn't help at all!  Thank you for sharing.  My question is after capturing the video did a tree stand go up nearby?

I've been on a dry spell with the elk the last few years but here's a couple picks from this year. Nothing big but its has me thinking of elk already.

I sat on a trail 100 yards from this guy and his harem for 5 hours. Wind was good but too many eyes bedded down around him for a stalk.  I had seen 30 elk earlier in the day march right up this trail but when this group finally moved it was halfway up the trail then they turned through an open boulder field at 50 yards!  AAAHH!

Love this thread. The one that haunts my dreams is one I called in last year to within 15 yards of my son. He couldn't get the shot off and the thermals gave him away.

He would score real well... not that that matters so much.. but he was a BEAST! I was 40 yards away doing the calling and he sent a major chill up my spine.

Thanks for the thread... and please keep the pics coming!
