My New Kota Kill-Um Recurve
« on: June 17, 2013, 02:15:00 PM »
I have owned a Kota Bow before but made the mistake and sold it (Prairie Fire Longbow). Each year I see the Finley's (Kota Bows) at the Coon Rapids shoot on fathers day weekend. I got to the booth looking to replace my long lost Prairie Fire longbow. I looked the table over and began shooting whatever bow I liked. I decided to shoot some recurves, when I shot this bow it was so quiet I could not believe it, I was kind of shocked. I returned the bow and took a five minute break to think - ha! Went back and grabbed it. This bow is a dream to carry after lugging my three piece take downs around the place, has the grip of my longbows - I think I better stop here. Great Bow - this medallion says it all!  :bigsmyl:

Very nice!  I really like the profile of those bows.

Best of luck with it.

Beautiful!  I talked to Tim on the phone the nigh before he left for Coon Rapids.  I was looking to buy a stock Killum and almost pulled the trigger on a 48#'er with Coco & Curly Maple...knowing if I didn't snag it, it probably wouldn't make the return trip from MN.  With that said, what are the specs on yours?  Is that the one I let get away?  Might have to put in an order!

I did not take that coco one, he had two cocobolo, one 48 the other 52 I believe. Mine has the Arch of black onyx ( something black) and shedua, limbs are Olive Ash.  The coco bows did not have the arch (he has photo's of the arch bows on his website, he will spice veneers as well, they are shown- really affordable  for what you get)I'm sure some guys were going to call him as they talked to me the next day when I returned with my tuned arrows to shoot again. I have had Tim make me a bow before as well and the wait was not bad.
I bet you could get it if you call soon. I kid you not, super quiet. Mine is 47@28 and an absolute dream to pull-can you tell I like it!
