A while back at a yard sale there was a big piece of purple leather in a big box of other leather stuff. I thought, now what am I going to do with purple leather? My daughter straightened me out right away. "Stuff for me" she said.

Well it took me awhile, but here is some of it. With friends like Shell it's much easier. Shell sent me the pink suede that I made the fringe with. We saved a scrap piece of the blue furry stuff from an old stool we recovered for Emma. Also Shell sent Emma the beautiful Silver Fox tail with Emma's favorite color blue beading in a river pattern.

Just admit it Kenny, that is your new quiver. It's ok, we'll understand.    :biglaugh:

Emma must be ecstatic.

Also the white for the shoulder strap came from a box of odds and ends sent to me by fflintlock, which I haven't yet returned the swap.
I haven't forgotten you Gerald, just haven't yet found the right goodies!
Here's one more pic.

Yeah, Dave I'm using it at the OSTA shoot tomorrow!  :bigsmyl:

She gave me a big hug and a smile when she got up this morning and saw it finished. Well worth the labor!

Good looking stuff Kenny.  There are some really good dads on this site, and you are one of them for sure.  I'm sure she will like it.

BTW I haven't had a lot of time to work on my stave but have gotten 'er to one ring.  I need the time to get it straightened some more then I can start to find the bow inside.  Regards Bill

Bill, good luck with the stave.

Curt, when you're ready to do Mae-Mae's, and if you want, I'm sure I'll have some of these frillys left over. I have a bunch.

Thanks for the nice comments.

She'll be using it this weekend at the shoot, I'm sure there'll be pics in action!

Vermonster, now that was funny!!  Took the words right out of my mouth.
The way I look at it, do whatever it takes to keep the interest of young people.  I'm still trying to think of a way to make a Dora The Explorer or Barbie bow for my daughter!
Nice job on the quiver by the way.

Thats cool! Reminds me of the pink quiver i got my daughter at that age....It wasn't near as nice as this one though, but she loved it just the same.....My daughter is going to be 21 in January and is still into archery. she just started her junior year in Pacific University and has the title of President of their small archery club there. i'm mighty proud of my baby girl. She doesen't use her bow for hunting, BUT...she still goes hunting with Dad here. Every year we climb a mountain together down on the coast.

Keep it fun bro! that's what i always tried to do....Keep it fun and they'll carry it with them...Kirk

Nice work.  I made a quiver for my son, but I didn't have any plans or instructions on how to put the fur around the top.  How did you put it in?

I cut the piece to fit then put barge cement around the top on the outside as far down as I wanted the fur to come, also put glue on the back side of the fur the same distance as down from the top. After set up time, I stuck that part together, then put glue down from the top on the inside as well as the rest of the backside of the fur, after set up time I worked the fur down around the inside. All done!
