That's awesome, I pray that someday the good Lord allows me to hunt moose and elk.  Congratulations and enjoy the gift of sustenance for you and yours.

You guys, if you haven't shot and quarteed and humped out  your own moose....well, I am really tired tonight but still so in awe of what happened that I can't shut off my brain. All I can tell you it was stunning, and humbling...I feel very fortunate....and Laura was looking almost right over my shoulder at the whole thing. One of these days I'll tell the story....it started way before moose season. I won't do a Charlie Lamb and keep you on edge....when I do the story I will have to do the whole thing in one sitting....just like I did term papers in college.

Can't wait to hear the story. Congrats on a fine hunt and a fine animal. Anyone who packs out his own moose is a giant and a human being in my book. Great job.

Like the Ferret, I dream of shooting a moose someday also. I will for sure need all the help I can find if one goes down.

Looking forward to the story whenever your ready.

That's awesome Bill!!  A NH moose is a dream of mine!  David was nice enough to show me a few close up last year.  I was just pointing a camera at them and was shaking like a leaf... I can't imagine what it takes to draw on one!

You guys that want to shoot a moose...NH, Maine and VT all h have moose lotteries. If any of you get a permit for NH let me know and I'll do what I can to  help out. I would recommend, however, a four wheeler with a  winch with plenty of wire or be prepared to hire a logger/farmer with a tractor/skidder to  haul it out. I was hunting in one of the southern zones that has fewer moose and moose hauling is not readily available....so we had to resort to knives, saws and grunting. I sat in the whirlpool last nite so I am not as stiff as I thought I would be....but there is always tomorrow.
