Richard, how old are your blems? I have sold nearly 10,000 doz (not a typo) of these in the last five years with less issues than what we've encountered in the non blemished shafts. Some of the older blems 6-10 years ago actually had an ocasional issue (we were told that some of the rejects had gotten in with the blems back then).
They are not marked for straightness yet they are all within the normal "Gold Tip hunter" specs or better and are not plus or minus 2 grains but are not more than a few grains of of that for the entire shaft.
When they put together a set of shafts, they sort them as one would do for wood shafts and put like weights together thus the plus or minus 2g. They don't sort the blems, but they should never be that far off.
