What is the value of this Shrew?
« on: June 20, 2013, 10:27:00 AM »
I have a Super Shrew, 60", 45@29" that was made in Jan 2001 by John McCullough.  It has been through a few owners, but on a scale of 0 to ten I would say it is about 8.  No marks of any significance.

I have resolved that it is just a little to heavy for me at my long draw and not so young age.  I have a very close friend who wants it.  Can you help me determine a fair price?

I paid $600 for it; he definitely wants it; I just want to be sure I set the price fairly between friends, and wonder if I over payed a tad for it.

Thanks for the help.
Most religions teach that you earn salvation by keeping rules. Jesus didn't teach that "good people" go to heaven. He taught that "forgiven people" go to heaven. And He invited everyone, no matter what their past, to come to Him and be forgiven.

Do a search on the classifieds here and on the net to get an idea what asking prices have been.  No blue book of bows so its more what you're willing to let it go for and what he's willing to pay.  JMc doesn't make em anymore that's a consideration, though newer Coffey Shrews aren't lesser.  Wait times have been lengthy and LaClairs not currently taking orders, also something to consider.  If its really a friend already sounds like you're over thinking it.  Give him a friendly deal  ;)

I sold one to a friend that was about a 2005 model.
Sold it to a Friend for what I paid $500.
If you paid $600 unless you feel a need to help him out that is still a fair price.

If it's a plain Super Shrew(by the way, John makes a heck of a bow), it's worth $500. If it's a Super Shrew Samurai or a Chameleon with bamboo cores, then $600 is maybe a little closer to 'market' value.

My opinion of course.
