Thanks Doc. Tom, the funny part is, I was scared to death about those Rappel towers, Cargo nets, slide for life cables, etc. that kept popping up throughout my Marine career. I just sucked it up and pretended all was OK - it was almost like I'd go into a trance so that no one would see I was terrified. I never got actually comfortable with heights until I started tree stand hunting in my late forties, early fifties. Still leery enough that it keeps me wanting to be extra safety conscious - which is a good thing, I'm sure. I love the comfort and ease of mind that the new Controlled Descent systems afford a tree stand hunter.
