The wild places are beginning to call me! It starts about this time every year. Anyone else getting the itch for the fall seasons to start???

That's funny my Mother used to tell me the same thing.
I was constantly in the woods behind my house. My Grandfather used to own a big Dairy Farm and once owned close to 100 acres. I was the first generation off the farm.
This will be my first year hunting and I am getting excited.

I have been looking at the calendar thinking about what vacation days to use. Those snowy days last year sound good about now!

Sept 7 is the archery opener here in NC. Roughly 77 days.

Just like last year, 30 minutes before sunrise, or 0626AM.

I really hadn't thought about it to much.....

The only two things I pay any attention to any more is... are the days getting longer or are they getting shorter.

Well as of yesterday.... days are getting shorter.

Yes, as soon as the equinox passes, I begin to think of the days getting shorter. This causes me to anticipate fall and the coming hunting season. Now if it would just cool off.

So THAT's what that itch is!
Saw my first velvet "stubs" on a young buck yesterday. Actually been counting the days down since last season ended, quite an affliction...

Got it bad here too.  I'm already tired of sweating like crazy every time I walk outside.  I'm excited for the location draws to be out in about a week for my elk hunt here.  Just got my vacation approved last week!
