A good friend, Roger Norris, and I put in for Mule Deer tags in Wyoming, and just found out today that we were drawn so we will be representing the MLA on our excursion to the "Cowboy State".  We have been haphazardly planning in anticipation, but now the Adventure really begins.  All the "getting in shape" and shooting practice we have been doing will hopefully pay dividends in a little over 2 months.

For those of you NONresidents who are still waiting till 25 June (like I was), the results are already out (thanks for the tip Steve O).  You all probably already knew this, and I'm just late to the game. LOL

Congrats Mike.  I have been accumulating points in WY for both Deer and Elk to one day hunt there...just got to pick the year. Almost went this year but ran out of time trying to figure out where to Elk hunt. Maybe 2014 since AK Moose is pushed back to 2015.

Congratulations Mike...    You couldn't fine a better man to partner up with than Roger. I've hunted with him at Shrew Haven for many years and he's a man you can depend on..   :campfire:

Those are kind words Ron. Thanks.

Mike and I are going to give it our best shot.....he is a darn good planner, has the map details all worked out. We are both "ex" Army MP's....so we will have plenty to BS about on the 30 hour drive

Stay tuned!!

Hard to believe these 95* and humid as all get out days are so close to cool mountain mornings.

Now to see if I can find someone to make me some arrows for the occasion.    :biglaugh:

I've never been to Wyoming, so the first thing I need to do is find out about what type rock is available to be knapped.  I plan on returning with as much as the Tahoe can hold.  I know of at lease 3 youngins who could put it to use.

Naaah Steve. That truck is too pretty. He just takes it to McDonald's and back. He wouldn't even let me try and drive it across the St Joe River last weekend!

That just gave me an early morning visual and a good chuckle right before I clocked in and went to work.  Thanks for that Roger I needed that today.
