My first bow was a Martin Recurve but since 1994 I have been shooting a Bob Lee Longbow. First set of limbs was 57# and then I dropped to 47# because of shoulder issues.
This is my first year participating in the St. Judes Fundraiser and I have officially been blessed! To be part of raising $80K for the kids is blessing enough but to win a bid on a bow like the one I just received is cherry on top the banana split!
She is a Bob Lee Takedown Recurve,58" and 53# @27"; about 55# at my 28" draw. I re-served the string and added some leach silencers, set the brace ht. and nock point, grabbed some GT 3555's and it has been on ever since. I was concerned about the weight but there is no stack and I am having no trouble at all. I did not realize how much faster it is than my longbow until I decided to shoot a stump in my yard from 50 and then 55 yards and nailed it on both shots. The lack of drop at that distance is amazing.
My thanks to "firsted" (Eddie Paulsgrove from New Mexico) for placing such a great bow up for auction.
Lord willing, I will be hunting with this bow this season. Put my camo tape on the limbs so she is ready for the dance!
