Had a great time at the CTAS High Country Shoot too. We brought some dust home with us but everyone was happy... I think. Saw a bunch of good friends. The Surewood guys came all the way from Oregon and I camped with a long time friend from Boulder. Two dads and 5 kids. No permanent damage done.

The "Pack Attack" was a hit. Save the deer from the 'yotes. I think they like the shooting to walking ratio.

Merry band on the "Fred Bear" range I think.

We did good on this Elk if you count the spine shot.

Guy with the obligatory goofy hat and the dusty children

Action shot

This one speaks for itself

All in all a great weekend. Should have gotten more pics. Steadman was there and made some new amigos but the kids about shot all day so I didn't get to chat much. We will be back for sure.

Those kids are sparkling clean compared to Henry, Wingnut's grandson! Every kid I seen there was in heaven, but so were all the grownup's!

Yep Henry had a ball!  He was the definition of a boy "Noise with dirt on it"

He sure was tired last night when we got home.

We all had a blast and really enjoyed the Colorado mountains and the people.  We will be back next year for sure.

Great Photos.  Kudos or the playing with the Kiddos.  Great looking archers there!

I think the future of archery is in good hands. I saw a ton of kids at the shoot. Alot of activities for them. We had archers of all kinds and ages. I shot the blue coarse with a gentleman that was celabrating his 82nd birthday and "having the time of his life" Just ahead of us were a group that had six kids from about three to sixteen having a ball. It was great!

Good to see! Love the last pic and the confident pose of the archer. Rio is chest high! Wish I could have made it...maybe next year.

We had a blast putting this shoot on.  It is a lot of work, but the set-up and teardown went quick with all the helping hands that pitched in.  Even with the record turnout we had this year, the wait time at each target was short or none.  This year we definitely had more kids and families than I've seen in a while.  Very good to see our future getting stronger.

Yeah snag, Rio is getting tall. We are gonna be in Eugene in a few weeks and will come and see the shop. Colotrad... shoot was great and there were alot of kids. We let people "play through" a few times but you are right about there not being big back ups. Everyone was very cool about us looking for arrows or taking a little time with the kids and we tried to keep em moving.
Your dinosaur trophies got my 8 year olds motivated to practice for next year.

Looks like you got all the kids using the right equipment.  Good to see you again, Steve.

This is good stuff. I'd love to attend this shoot some day with my kids.

I just picked up four kid's recurves and arrows today off Craigslist for pocket change.  I figure I'll share them with some of my kid's friends.

Had a great time.  Not so many pics, though. The girls had a GREAT time shooting bows.  For that matter, their fathers did too!

Russ:

Yes it was good to see you and the kids again.  A work party for the P&Y shoot would be good, maybe you could take my place and I could just show up for the shoot!

Was a long drive from the I-5 corridor in Oregon to Colorado, but those guys really put on a good shoot.  They must have a fortune in targets and what a setting for a High County shoot.

PS: We got home a lot faster than the trip there, Shurwood Steve let me drive his "wife's" pickup!

Glad you guys got home ok Allen. Steve must've fallen asleep or did you guys slip him something so he would give up the wheel?
It was really good seeing the OR crew. Wish I could've hung out more... dang kids.

Don't know if you guys will make the haul again but I'm gonna go back to that shoot for sure.
